30 Day Tea/Teapot Challenge Day 1

A few days ago, a friend challenged me to do a 30 days of Teas and Teapots challenge.  So, for the next 30 days, I will be posting the tea that I am drinking as well as the teapot I am using.

Feel free to play along and post the tea you are drinking and/or the teapot you are using. Just add your link in the comments or join in on the blog’s Facebook page Simply Angela On Twitter, use the hashtag #SimplyAngelaTeaChallenge

Day 1: Coconut Cocoa Tea From the Republic of Tea in a tea-for-one toile teapot from LivingQuarters.

The Cup of Dessert Herb Tea - A rich, exotic taste of this herbal infusion combines coconut, chocolate and caramel malted barley to produce a thick, naturally sweet, tropical cup. The delicious taste of both cocoa and carob belies their nutritional value.  (from The Republic of Tea’s website)

I picked up this tea on whim while I was browsing through Kitchen Collection, my favorite kitchen store. I wasn’t sure how well I would like the taste as this was the first time I’ve tried a chocolate tea from The Republic of Tea, although it reminds me of an almond joy. Very smooth with a nice mixture of chocolate and coconut. It makes for a nice change to hot cocoa.

The tea-for-one set was a Christmas gift that I received from my Mum several years ago. I love the light blue toile pattern set against the off-white background. It has a nice French Country feel to it. While it appears small, the teapot fills up the cup 2 ½ times and the spout is angled perfectly so that it doesn’t dribble. It also keeps your tea warm. What I loved about this set was the fact it came with a saucer. Often tea-for-one sets only come with the cup and teapot, so it was nice that it came with a large saucer that’s perfect for sitting a biscuit on.

  1. The tea sounds nice. Lovely teapot too. I drink a chili chocolate tea during the winter time that's really nice. It's a bit hot down this end of the world to drink that now though :)
