30 Day Tea/Teapot Challenge Day 2

A few days ago, a friend challenged me to do a 30 days of Teas and Teapots challenge.  So, for the next 30 days, I will be posting the tea that I am drinking as well as the teapot I am using.

Feel free to play along and post the tea you are drinking and/or the teapot you are using. Just add your link in the comments or join in on the blog’s Facebook page Simply Angela On Twitter, use the hashtag #SimplyAngelaTeaChallenge

A robust and full flavored black tea accented with exotic imperial spices. The bold concentrated character of this lush black tea lends itself well to the full notes of cardamom, ginger and clove. The sweet hint of tropical coconut fragrantly fills the cup, offering an inviting taste of paradise to savor from any spot on the map. Delicious with a splash of milk. A bright and flavorful steep. (from Zhena’s website)

Ingredients

Fair Trade Certified Indian Black Tea*, Cinnamon*, Ginger*, Cardamom Pods*, Whole Cloves*, Orange Peels*, Nutmeg*, Black Pepper*, Natural Coconut Flavor, Natural Cinnamon Flavor.

 * Certified Organic

Apparently, I’m sticking with the coconut theme from yesterday.  I selected one of my favorite chai teas: Coconut Chai Black Tea from Zhena’s Gypsy Tea.

Chai teas are one of those teas that not everyone is going to like because of its spicy taste. However, this particular tea has a milder flavor. The cloves, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, and black pepper have been toned down allowing the coconut to be front and center. I won’t say that the spicy flavor is absent altogether because, after all, chai teas are known for their spice, but I think that this is a great starter tea for those wanting to try chai.

I found this lovely little Taj Mahal teapot at World Market during my last trip. I liked that it was a different type of teapot and it also makes a great accent piece.

  2. Aw cute teapot. Not a coconut girl myself but I do love tea. Do you have a full 30 days of different teapots? Or can you re-use some?

  3. Thanks, Anna. I love coconut--I think I'm the only one in my family that does. I'm going to try to do 30-days with 30 different teapots, although if you wanted to join in you could reuse your teapots.

  4. Thanks, Sophia. I'm a bit behind because my stove top decided not to work. Thankfully it was only a some flaw with the control panel and they fixed it this morning.
