Hello
Lovelies! Welcome to The Favorite Heroines Hop hosted by Anna @ Herding Catsand Burning Soup! I hope you have a lovely time following along as we share out
Favorite Heroines.
Find
a heroine that I love is a bit tricky for me. She needs to be strong, capable,
and not afraid to speak her mind. Yet she also needs to be a bit vulnerable, willing
to compromise, and not afraid to ask the hero for help. She needs to be headstrong at times but also
able to heed the hero’s advice.
So,
meet my favorite heroines. These ladies may not always have their crap together
but they eventually get their ducks in a row.
I
would so love to be friends with Vivi. She’s been through a lot but she’s still
ready and willing to be there for Chance but she’s not about to be his doormat.
Once
upon time Sadie Miller was a troubled teen but ten years later she’s ready to
face her past and open a B&B in the town she spent a decade avoiding. Plus,
she gave her hero an apology azalea—how cute is that?
Not
even a family feud will stop Eve from helping the man she’s been secretly in
love with since she was a teen. She’s steadfast and determined and devoted to
saving wild mustangs. But she’s also not afraid of putting Connor in his place.
Okay,
so, she may be a bear shifter but she knows what she wants and she’s not afraid
of going after it.
Emily
has a lot on her plate but she’s willing to face her fears to ensure that her
young niece is safe.

Jo March from Little Women by Louisa May Alcott is my favorite heroine because Jo, through a mix of talent and self-awareness, managed to avoid ever being fully domesticated. She proves the axiom that well-behaved women never make history, and for a century and a half she’s served as our go-to prototype for spunky, feisty independent heroines.

I like KAtniss from Hunger Games. She is strong and resourceful
ReplyDeleteAt the top of my list are Kate Daniels. Eve Dallas, and Elina Shestakova of the Black Bear Riders of the Midnight Mountains of Despair in the Far Reaches of the Steppes of the Outerplains. Oh, and Livy Kowalski, I keep wanting to forget about her.
ReplyDeleteI loved Vivi. An awesome character. Thanks for reminding me about her. I have to say Eve Dallas from JD Robb's In Death series. She's kick ass all the way. Had a horrible childhood. She runs the homicide division and has the respect of everyone who works for her. There are so many more but I' ll say Eve for now.

I have not read any of these yet, but I am just as picky about my heroines, too. I tend to gravitate toward UF heroines with Mercy Thompson, Dory Bassarab, Kate Daniels and the such as my favs, but there have been a few others. I recently read Outlaw Hearts and loved Miranda Hayes.
ReplyDeleteEve Dallas
ReplyDeleteGreat choices Angela! I havent read any of these books, but the heroines all seem like people I'd wanna read about and be friends with. Its always great to find strong yet still vulnerable women who take charge in books. I just love all G.A. Aikens heroines, lol. They're all nuts :3!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite heroine is Mercy Thompson from Mooncalled by Patricia Briggs because she is funny and brave. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm such a paranormal (including Urban Fantasy too!) fan that all my heroines I love are part of those genres. Right now it's a UF heroine, Kate Daniels, but I love Tris from Divergent, Anita Blake from the early books (still sad how the series started to turn out), Bella from the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward.... I could go on naming forever!
ReplyDeleteLike your list. I love Kate Beckett from Castle. I love how she is funny, sassy and kick ass all at the same time!
ReplyDeleteI love Hermione Granger, I know she's not the main character, but she's strong, smart, and awesome.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite heroine is Rose from The Vampire academy ’cause she’s just one strong and interesting character!
ReplyDeleteI have 2 favorites right now: Mercy Thompson from Patricia Briggs' series that starts with Moon Called and Toby Daye from Seanan McGuire's great series of Fae in San Francisco. @BerkeleyHapa

ReplyDeleteMy favorite heroines are loyal and loving. They have a smart mouth and take no stuff from anyone .Even if they are physically weaker, they are able to give as good as they get (at least verbally) LOL. My favorites are: Annwyl the Bloody from G.A. Aiken’s Dragon Actually, Keely Walsh Maddox from Monette Michael’s Eye of the Storm, Jessica Ward Smith from Shelly Laurenston’s The Beast In Him, Desiree
