Crazy Over You by Wendy Sparrow

She’s on the sheriff’s most wanted list.

Waking up with a naked woman holding a knife at his throat is just about the last thing Sheriff Travis Flynn expected. And the brother she’s looking for? A murderer. And dead. Probably. But the real shock comes when she insists she’s not a Lycan.

LeAnn Wilcox isn’t looking for love…especially not from some wolf in sheriff’s clothing. She operates on the other side of the law. Once she finds her brother-alive-she’ll get out of the pack’s territory and go back to her regular, normal, non-furry life of changing jobs and her name whenever her past closes in.

The cool, logical Sheriff has finally met his match, but LeAnn’s life is at stake if she won’t claim her place in the pack, especially once his control over the pack is challenged and her brother’s fate is questioned.

Title: Crazy Over You | Series: Taming the Pack # 3 | Author: Wendy Sparrow | Publisher: Entangled Select Otherworld |  Genre: Paranormal Romance | Rating: 4.5

You know when you’re on Amazon and the recommended books pop up? Well, I normally just scroll past them but Crazy Over You caught my eye. Seriously, that cover is eye-catching, there was no way I just scroll by. Once I read the blurb, I just had to one-click and I am so not disappointed.

Here’s what’s going on. Travis Flynn, sheriff and lycan, wakes to find a naked woman holding a knife to his throat. She’s looking for brother, Ross, who was a traitor to his kind and Travis believes he’s dead. What bothers Travis the most is the fact that this crazy naked woman is his scent match.

LeAnn just wants answers about her brother and then she’ll leave. She knows he’s alive, even if the sexy sheriff she’s attracted too claims her brother was killed by the pack. The longer she searches, the more irresistible Travis becomes. Although she knows that giving in isn’t an option. He’s a sheriff and she’s on the wrong side of the law and despite what Travis is saying, she’s not a Lycan and definitely not Alpha material.

Now that the pack is in crisis, and a murderer is on the loose, LeAnn realizes that she needs to as far away as possible although Travis has no intentions of letting his mate go.

Oh, I loved this book. So, it’s the third—and from what I can tell, finale—book in the Taming the Pack series by the wickedly talented Wendy Sparrow. When I went one-click happy, I had no idea that this was book three. There are a few things that I’m eager to find out, but this book worked as a standalone.

I adored Travis. He’s definitely an Alpha—it oozes off of him in waves without coming across as cocky and arrogant. He likes control and is a bit OCD, which I can totally relate to. When LeAnn comes barging into his life, he’s not really sure how to blend her out of control life with his tightly controlled ways so it was really fun watching him loosen up a bit.

I really liked LeAnn. She’s been through a lot in her life and is suffering PTSD but when push comes to shove, she’s going to come out swinging. She’s a tough cookie although there’s also a vulnerable side to her. She’s not really sure where she fits in and even though Travis is insisting that she’s his mate and now part of the pack, she still feels like an outside, especially since her bother was a murdering psychopath.

Travis and LeAnn had brilliant chemistry. They really lit up the pages without tumbling into bed. The conflict between them also helped with the chemistry and I loved that Travis and LeAnn didn’t have an instant, easy relationship. They definitely had an instant lust and attraction but they had to work for their HEA.

The suspense was strong and steady without faltering or interfering with the romance. I was eager to see if Ross was still alive. LeAnn was able to track his scent but given the way Ross supposedly died, Travis and Jordan found it highly unlikely. While I had a feeling who was behind the trouble, it still kept me engaged.

I loved the Lycan world that Sparrow created while creating realistic characters. Even though they sprouted fur and a tail, they were realistically flawed and struggling with human problems and I loved it when an author has the ability to infuse both traits into paranormal characters.

This was my first time reading Wendy Sparrow but it will not be my last. It was also my first time reading Entangled’s Select Otherworld imprint and I’m eager to read more from them as well.

Overall, I loved Crazy Over You. I could not put it down and definitely had a book hangover from reading this until the wee hours of the morning.  The characters were engaging, the suspense riveting, the chemistry was off the charts, the plot was steady, and I was eager to see if LeAnn ever shifted.

I cannot wait to catch up on this series.
