Book Club Read-a-thon Update

Hello Lovelies,

Last week my local book club had a weeklong read-a-thon and it was so much fun. While we’re still practicing social distancing, we held a few Zoom meetings throughout the week and today we’ll have our final check-in.

It’s been awhile since I’ve went on a reading binge and it was fantastic to finally find my reading groove (maybe joining a read-a-thon helped spur me on?). The weather finally cooled down a bit—and the downpours stopped—so I was also able to get outside and read. Whatever the reason, I ended up finishing seven books.

Here’s what I read:

The Cuckoo's Cry by Caroline Overington (audio)—an Australian mystery thriller set during lockdown.
Vampire Book Club (Vampire Book Club #1) by Nancy Warren (e-book)—a cozy, paranormal mystery set in Ireland.
Books, Blogs, and Bloody Murder (Aggie Underhill Mystery #15) by Michelle Ann Hollstein (audio)—a cozy mystery short story. This one was the book club pick.
Pasta, Pirates and Poison (Beachside Books #1) by Paula Lester and Lisa B. Thomas (audio)—a cozy, paranormal mystery.

The Making of a Marchioness, Part I by Emily Fox-Seton (paperback)—historical fiction.
Garters and Gargoyles (Vampire Knitting Club #10) by Nancy Warren (e-boo)—a cozy, paranormal mystery
Little Bookshop of Murder (Beach Reads Mystery #1) by Maggie Blackburn (e-book)—cozy mystery out next month.

Reviews will be coming in the next couple of weeks.
