Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley

The ride of her life . . .
Once upon a time, Carissa Teodoro believed in happy endings. Money, marriage, motherhood: everything came easy---until she woke up to the ugly truth about her Prince Charming. Now a struggling, single mom and stranded by a flat tire, Carissa's pondering her mistakes when a vaguely familiar knight rides to her rescue on a ton of horsepower.
Climb on and hold tight . . .
In high school, Carson Steele was a bad boy loner who put Carissa on a pedestal where she stayed far beyond his reach. Today, he's the hard-bodied biker known only as Joker, and from the way Carissa's acting, it's clear she's falling fast. While catching her is irresistible, knowing what to do with her is a different story. A good girl like Carissa is the least likely fit with the Chaos Motorcycle Club. Too bad holding back is so damned hard. Now, as Joker's secrets are revealed and an outside threat endangers the club, Joker must decide whether to ride steady with Carissa---or ride away forever . . .
Title: Ride Steady | Series: A Chaos Novel # 3 | Author: Kristen Ashley | Publisher: Forever | Release Date: June 30, 2015 | Genre: Contemporary Romance | Source: Publisher | Rating: 4.5

I could not get enough of Ride Steady. Carson and Carissa were so made for each other that I could not help but doing a happy little snoopy dance when they finally clicked together.

Carissa wanted the fairytale life until she realized her prince charming was a jackass. Now she’s a struggling single mother doing her best to care for her son. When she finds herself and her son stranded on the side of the road, she can’t believe that a bearded biker, who looks remarkable familiar, is the only one who stopped to help.

Carson, now known as Joker, has loved Carissa since high school although he knew that he could never bring her into his jacked up life. Even though he found himself when he joined Chaos Motorcycle Club, he’s still not sure he’s good enough for Carissa but he knows he doesn’t want to let her or her son go.

WOW! Joker/Carson rocked this book so hard. I fell instantly in love with him. He’s been through a lot but he’s left it behind and became a man that he could be proud of. While he was worried about being right for Carissa and her son, there was nothing he wouldn’t do to protect them and make sure that they had everything they needed.

Carissa, now she’s a heroine that I loved. She was a good mother and fiercely protective of Carson. She knew she wanted him and she wasn’t going to stop until he realized he was what she and her son needed.

The chemistry between Carissa and Carson was fantastic and I loved how they both just went with the flow rather than resist their attraction. And I loved the way that Carson came clean to Carissa without being forced to open up. The conflict, rather than being between Carissa and Carson, actually came from outside sources, but that worked for this book.

Okay, so I made a huge mistake when I passed over Own The Wind (Chaos #1). I had never read a series centered on a biker club and was worried that I wouldn’t really gel with the book, but then I read the short story Every Year that was featured in Forever’s Christmas anthology and now I’m hooked. I cannot wait to catch up with this series.

Overall, I loved Ride Steady. There were funny moment, intense moments, and moments that made me go aww. I loved seeing Carson interact with Carissa’s son and I loved seeing Carissa come out of her shell and turn into her own version of a biker babe.

  1. Ooooh, now this one sounds very good for a MC read. It sounds believable and not all crazy like some of these other books. I'm gonna have to check it out^^. I like the fact they just go with it and dont try to fight or get all dramatic. I think it's cool too that Carrisa is a mom so that adds a lot of depth. :)

  6. A leather tote with a skull on it...I could totally rock that! lol I just wouldn't do so well on the actual bike, so I'll skip that part because I don't like bugs in my teeth. lol
